
Welcome to the online home of the Fire Department of Norwood Young America, Minnesota. Norwood Young America is located approximately 40 miles to the west of the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Staffed by 29 members, the City of Norwood Young America volunteer Fire Department provides assistance during emergency situations for the City and the surrounding area.

Fire Department Hosts "Movie Night"
The Norwood Young America Fire Department hosted it's first ever "Movie Night" at Station #1. Attending were both department members, as well as kids and families who recieved invitations during October's Fire Prevention Month. The night was complete with popcorn, soda and other treats. Thank you to everyone who attended, and look for another "Movie Night" in the future! |

Toy Drive Starting Up Soon
As the holiday season draws near, the Hamburg, Cologne and Norwood Young America Fire Departments will again be holding a Toy Drive. The toy drive will benefit local children and families in need. More information about needs and dropoff locations will be posted on this website and in the local papers soon. Our past toy drives have been very successful -- and we are hoping for another successful year! |

Must See Video About Kids and Smoke Alarms
In this video, a news station takes a look at how some children do not wake up to traditional smoke alarms when they go off in the middle of the night. They also show how some new technology in fire alarms may help make sure that those children wake up in the event of a fire in their home.
